The role

I recently heard a pastor's wife say that every staff wife should be involved in women's ministry. This is where my heart is, but I just don't think that you should define where someone is involved. It also amazes me how many staff wives I see who do nothing and are not a part of the church they belong to. What is your take on this? What should a pastor/minister's wife do at the church?

Why this blog?

I wanted to start this blog I guess to have an outlet, but I completely forgot about it:) This past weekend has been one of the hardest in my life. I don't mean for every entry to be about men's sexual integrity issues, but it seems like it is always present in my life. My husband literally gets calls once a week from someone who struggles or knows someone who struggles with sexual integrity issues. This past weekend the phone call came from a close family member.
I am so sad b/c this family member has four small kids and a wife who is distraught. I feel bad, but I am not angry at him just very sad.

It makes me look at every man and wonder if they too struggle. I am mad at our society and the way that sex is always out there! I know that God allowed me to walk the path that so many women have walked for a reason.

If your husband struggles with anything I highly recommend Every Man's Battle Conferences. They are like detox for sexual integrity issues. My family member was able to go to one this weekend. I know he has a long road ahead, but thankfully now his sin is no longer in the dark. Light has struck it, and when light hits it illuminates! God is so good, and I cling to Nahum 1:7 and Romans 8:28 at times like these.

Do you need someone to talk to? Are you hurting b/c of your man? Do you have a success story to share? Don't keep it in-satan loves the shame silence brings!

counseling

I recently counseled a pastor's wife who had just found out her husband had had an affair with a youth. Another downer was that she was due any day. I know some of you are reading this and are probably pretty shocked, but unfortunately it is a very common problem. I know b/c my husband revealed some personal struggles with me on our first wedding anniversary. My husband had issues with pornography. I know that to some of us that is just so shocking, but if your man tells you pornography has never tried to tempt him he is probably lying. Our society bombards our men every day with images they just can't get out of their heads! My husband took about a year break from ministry to face his demons and now he is back on track. Not all men get back into the ministry after that, but he went through a restoration process. Back to my original thought. I just want you to know that if you have ever faced something like this you are not alone! Please seek some Godly counsel and find people to support you!

Welcome

Welcome to my blog and welcome to my world. I am a pastor's wife and wanted to start a blog about my life in general, but specifically about being a pastor's wife. I have two kiddos, both under the age of 3. I have been married for 5 1/2 years. Being a pastor's wife has its ups and downs, but mostly ups. Our road of ministry has not always been an easy one, but even through the trials we have continued to find our joy! My goal for this blog is that other pastor wives would find encouragement and even leave comments to encourage others. I feel like sometimes as pastor's wives we get a little forgotten, so I feel we must be there for one another.
